About Central Lake, Michigan:
Central Lake is a city in Antrim County in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is located on an island within East Grand Traverse Bay, which separates it from Elk Rapids and neighboring communities along US31 to the east across this bay’s southern arm known as Portage Lake or the “Sunrise Side”. It is about 40 miles (64 km) northeast of Traverse City, along M-72 at its intersection with US131 in the middle of the Leelanau Peninsula.

The local economy has diversified to include wineries and tasting rooms that contribute an estimated $200 million annually to the county’s tourism economy with many visitors drawn by Central Lake's designation as Leelanau Peninsula American Viticultural Area (AVA).
