Affectionately known as “Charlevoix the Beautiful,” Charlevoix has been ranked as one of the best small towns in America by CNN and Money Magazine. The community is home to a unique selection of attractions including the National Mustard Museum and Capital Brewery. This lively town is typical Northern Michigan - fudge shops, ferry docks, a beautiful marina, shopping and dining, and an in-town park with a bank shell for outdoor performances. Kids love watching the drawbridge, which opens every half hour to let big boats pass through.

Lake Michigan Beach is a popular white-sand oasis with all of the amenities: lifeguards, concession stands, restrooms, and picnic areas. It's also the place to catch gorgeous sunsets and is home to great rock hunting - especially for Petoskey stones. The beach is a short walk to downtown Charlevoix along the Pine River Channel.

Charlevoix Country Club Community Highlights

The Charlevoix Country Club is a four-star Jerry Matthews design that offers golfers an opportunity to play a public course that boasts private club service and conditioning.  Golfers will encounter beautifully manicured bent grass fairways, large undulating putting surfaces, and a landscape conducive to an upscale golfing environment.  Water dominates the landscape, as many holes weave their way across a nice mix of open and tree-lined holes with expansive surrounds of heather.  There are many birdie and par opportunities to be had with the last 4 holes being the most challenging finishing holes in Northwestern Michigan.  Come experience Heatherwoods at The Charlevoix Country Club - located right off Highway 31 just 2 miles north of Charlevoix. A true ''Diamond in the Rough''!

The clubhouse is upscale all the way and features a pro shop plus a nicely appointed restaurant and lounge that serves Sunday Brunch as well as lunch and dinner 7 days a week.  Members have considerable other benefits including a private lounge and locker rooms.  A grass range is on the property, and a large practice green is situated near the clubhouse.  The course is well marked, with 150-yard stakes doubling as directional devices, sprinkler heads measured to the center of the green, and 100, 150, and 200-yard blocks posted in the fairways.

Four sets of tees provide golfers with opportunities to play from yardages and slopes measuring 6520 yards/135 slopes, 6071 yards/126 slopes, 5700 yards/116 slope, and 5084 yards with a slope of 125 from the forward tees. We found the course to be very playable - choose the right tees for your handicap and a good score is possible. The trick will be to avoid the many ponds and lakes. On the backside, marshlands are also more in play, with the long par three 17th providing the longest carry of the round.

Charlevoix Country Club is easy to get to - located right off Highway 31 just 2 miles north of Charlevoix. This is a beautiful area and the course and property are a good match. The rates are quite reasonable for the quality and location.

The Charlevoix Intermediate School District (Char-Em ISD) is responsible for students in the Charlevoix area.
