Although navigating the Jordan River requires little skill, total beginners may prefer a guided group excursion with Jordan Valley Outfitters, which offers tours as well as kayak, canoe, and tube rentals.

East Jordan residents like visiting the neighborhood coffee shops and bakeries. A few art galleries and boutique boutiques are also available, which are always popular with travelers. There is a wide network of hiking and mountain biking paths nearby for those who enjoy the outdoors, which go up to the town's reservoir in the mountains.

The Raven Hill Discovery Center is a famous tourist destination in East Jordan. It is the unique place in northern Lower Michigan where children and adults may integrate science, history, and the arts with hands-on activities and excursions both indoors and outdoors. It was founded in 1991 and opened in 1992. The Center is situated on 157 acres in Charlevoix County, near to the Raven Ridge Nature Preserve of the Little Traverse Conservancy. Raven Hill is a teaching institution, and the collections and exhibitions, as well as the staff and volunteers, are its pupils and teachers.
