Northport Creek Golf Course Homes for Sale

Northport Creek is a par 35 course in Northport Village, just a few blocks from the Northport Marina.

The course, which was designed by famed Michigan golf architect

Jerry Matthews, emphasizes the natural, using the contours and beauty of the ancient agricultural land to propose hole placement and course flow.

The proprietors of Northport Creek have taken Matthew's emphasis on the natural world even further by installing solar panels to power the golf carts and irrigation system, making Northport Creek the first solar-powered golf course in the country!

Northport Creek Golf Course Community Highlights

Hole #1

This hole, the longest of the par 4s, measures 430 yards from the back tee and will test even the most seasoned golfer. Tee shots should err on the side of the fairway to the right. On approach shots that play downhill and against the wind, club selection might be difficult. The road is Out-of-Bounds, so avoid going left or long on this hole. For a wonderful start to any round, shoot par here.

Hole #2

From the back tee, this short par 4 measures 295 yards and plays slightly uphill. Players will have a short iron or wedge into the green if they hit a good tee shot. Bunkers guard the end of the fairway and the right front of the green, so players looking to "bomb" a drive should be wary. Approach shots will normally play into the prevailing wind, so depending on the wind speed, add a club or two.

Hole #3

From the back tee, this dogleg right plays 345 yards and necessitates accuracy off the tee to avoid three big fairway bunkers. Approach shots will go slightly downhill to a green bordered by Bill's pond and guarded by two tiny bunkers. The safest bet is to go for the middle of the green, where a two-putt will suffice. Players interested in tackling the flagstick, on the other hand, should be aware of the concept of risk-reward.

Hole #4

The longest of the two par 3s on the course, at 190 yards from the back tee, plays slightly downhill and into the wind. To prevent going over the green, players should club down. You'll not only have a difficult up and down, but you'll also be at risk of going Out-of-Bounds and having to re-tee. When standing on the tee, your game strategy should be to play to the right side of the green and two-putt.

Hole #5

This short par four, at 320 yards from the back tee, emphasizes tee shot placement. To offer yourself the best angle to attack this little, tucked green, favor the right side of the fairway. If you are on the left side, you will need a good short game to make par; if you are too far left, you will end up in the creek. If played correctly, this hole offers a tremendous chance to make birdies.

Hole #6

The course's only par 5 may encourage players to go for it in two, but it will also reward those with a solid wedge game. Players will face a short, forced carry-over Bill's pond when they play 520 yards from the back tee. On this minor dogleg left, tee shots should favor the right side of the fairway. This will provide you with the best angle for your second photograph. To offer yourself the best opportunity for a birdie, leave yourself enough distance for a full shot on your third.

Hole #7

This par 4 is a mirror image of our 5th hole, with the same exact distance (320 yards) from the back tee. This hole, like the 18th at Augusta National, features a tiny opening of about 40-50 yards, forcing golfers to thread the needle with their tee shots. Favoring the left side of the fairway will give you an excellent angle towards a tiny green hidden between hardwoods and pine trees. Players will once again be handed a short club and should seek to capitalize on the scoring opportunity.

Hole #8

The second of our par 3s is a little shorter than the first, but it's just as difficult. This green, which is 175 yards from the back tee and somewhat downhill, is defended on the left side by a tiny bunker. Make sure you have enough club to carry a wetlands area 15 yards in front of the green. Long is safe, but it will leave a tiny chip in the direction of the dangers.

Hole #9

The second of our par 3s is a little shorter than the first, but it's just as difficult. This green, which is 175 yards from the back tee and somewhat downhill, is defended on the left side by a tiny bunker. Make sure you have enough club to carry a wetlands area 15 yards in front of the green. Long is safe, but it will leave a tiny chip in the direction of the dangers.
